For gentle cleansing of skin and hair. Lava clay is especially recommended for sensitive or blemished skin, a sensitive scalp, dandruff, and oily hair.

Powdered lava clay is prepared for use as a skin and hair cleanser as follows:

Stir 3–6 level tablespoons of lava clay (for medium-length hair) into about twice that amount of warm water. This creates a creamy, liquid paste. Let the lava clay swell briefly. If you have dry hair, it’s recommended to add a few drops of oil (e.g., calendula oil) to the mixture. Then distribute the mixture through your wet hair and massage it in gently. Let it sit for a short while, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. One rinse is sufficient. Afterward, condition and dry your hair and scalp as usual.
