MISSHA All Around Safe Block Cotton Sun SPF 50 PA++++
MISSHA All Around Safe Block Cotton Sun with SPF50+ PA++++ contains the mineral UV filters zinc oxide and titanium oxide. This mattifying sunscreen leaves the skin feeling super soft and keeps sebum production in check throughout the day. That’s why it’s perfect for those with oily skin.
This best-selling sunscreen contains, among other ingredients, tea tree leaf extract, ceramides, and panthenol. The tea tree leaf extract has healing and anti-inflammatory properties, ceramides strengthen the skin barrier, and panthenol soothes the skin.
The formula is waterproof, sweat- and sebum-resistant, and also gives the skin a natural tone-up effect. By the way, MISSHA Cotton Sun sunscreen is also ideal as a primer or makeup base.
THE SUNSCREEN 101
How much sunscreen should I apply?
For the face, use a fingertip-sized amount; for the body, use an amount about the size of half your palm.
How long before sunbathing should I apply my sunscreen?
Sunscreen takes 30 minutes to become fully effective. Apply it accordingly before sunbathing. Areas particularly exposed to the sun, such as the face, décolletage, neck, and hands, require extra-intensive sun protection. Reapply your sunscreen at least every three hours, and more frequently during the midday heat.
What is the difference between physical (organic) and chemical sunscreen?
Physical sunscreen forms a thin protective layer on the skin and reflects the sun’s rays, while chemical sunscreen absorbs and neutralizes the sun’s rays.
What are the benefits of physical sunscreen?
Physical sunscreen is generally hypoallergenic and suitable even for sensitive children’s skin. It adheres particularly well to the skin, which is why it often leaves a “white cast”—that is, a white film visible on the skin. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide reflect harmful sun rays and prevent them from penetrating the skin in the first place.
What are the benefits of chemical sunscreen?
Chemical sunscreen feels light and airy on the skin, isn’t sticky, and doesn’t leave a white film.
What do SPF and PA mean in sunscreens?
The sun protection factor of a sunblock is indicated by SPF and PA.
The SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates protection against UVB radiation, which does not penetrate deeply and can cause superficial damage such as painful sunburn and, in extreme cases, skin cancer.
The PA or PPD value (UVA Protection and Persistent Pigment Darkening) defines protection against aging UVA radiation. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin and are responsible for the formation of wrinkles and age spots. The PA rating of a sunscreen indicates how much longer it takes for the skin to tan compared to unprotected skin. PA++ means the skin can be exposed to the sun up to 8 times longer than unprotected skin without darkening. With PA+++, this is up to 16 times longer; PA++++ means 17 times longer and more than without protection.
Shake the bottle before use. Then apply a generous amount of Sun Essence to areas of skin exposed to the sun.
Don’t forget: Sunscreen should be reapplied approximately every 2–3 hours to ensure maximum protection.
