Organic cajeput essential oil (bot. Melaleuca leucadendron var. cajaputi) has a fresh, spicy, eucalyptus-like scent and is a top note. Its aromatic profile is liberating, clarifying, and cleansing. It is extracted from the leaves via steam distillation. In aromatherapy, it is used in appropriately low doses even for children and babies as young as 6 months, as it serves as a mild oil during the cold season. Its soothing properties are often used in warming ear compresses, decongestant chest rubs, and massage oils.
